Now that I'm home and somewhat organized, I thought I'd update the blog. Nationals was wonderful and exhausting as usual. There were a lot of good moments and I'll share some with you.
My roommate and friend, Cat Schield, won the Golden Heart for Series contemporary. We both cried and celebrated after the ceremony.
2 of my Austin RWA chaptermates won Rita Awards. Sherry Thomas for Not Quite a Husband in the Historical category and Laura Griffin for Whisper of Warning in the Romantic Suspense category. If you haven't read these women's books get to it!
Another Austin chaptermate, Jane Sevier, was a Golden Heart finalist for Novel With Strong Romantic Elements AND her script “Package Deal” won the Romancing the Script competition!
This is an Austin RWA group in the bar after the awards ceremony. Farrah Rochon, Jax Garren, Jane Sevier, Skyler White and Shellee Cruz.
Here are Laura Griffin and Rita nominee Tracy Wolff as we celebrate all the wins.
Julie Ortolon, Kristyne Raley, Sherry Thomas and the Ritas on the table.
Cat and me at the Golden Heart/Rita Awards.
This one is from Saturday morning. Me, Eliza Knight (the BEST president a girl could work with!) and Shannon.
Tomorrow, when I'm even more organized (ok, stop laughing), I'll give you the details on some things I saw and did during the trip. And then later this week, I'll be announcing a contest.

Lexi, I really enjoyed seeing your pictures from RWA National and the KOD tour. Looks like you had a fabulous time.
Awesome pics. I'm so glad you were my roomie and date for the party. It was so much better with you there.
Anne, it was a fabulous time. Now I'm almost ready to jump back into the writing!
Thanks, Cat!
So cool that you and Skyler White are in the same group :-) Her novels, particularly the first, sound awesome! :-)
Great pictures, Lexie. Thanks!
Love all the pictures, Lexi! Congrats on placing in the Daphne!
Love your RWA pics! I enjoyed meeting a few of your Austin Chapter-mates at the conference.
Tez, I thought of you when Skyler first told us about her book!
Thanks, Gary & Farrah!
