24-7-69

24- There are NOT enough hours in the day for me to do everything I want and need to do! And I'm single!! I don't know how you married people and people with kids can still find time to write. I'm still working on my 100 words a day. I'm still getting something accomplished each day, although it's NEVER enough time for me to totally immerse myself in my fictional world. BUT I'm getting some great scenes, learning a whole bunch about my characters and just today I nailed down a bunch more information about my current hero and his goals, motivation and conflicts!

7- Only 7 days until the Romancing the Tome contest makes the final placement announcements. My contemporary is in there. I really shouldn't be allowed to enter contests. I get way too excited way too soon. I tell myself I won't spend much time thnking about it between now and then, but...

69- The number of school days left in the 06-07 school year. Although I'll be sad to see my kids go off for summer vacation (some more than others), I CANNOT wait for my own summer vacation! This has been a very challenging year, to say the least, and I'll be happy for some peace among the hills of the Scottish Highlands and the rich, green grasses of Ireland.

Gotta go!

69 can be so much more fun than that. ;)

Good luck on the Tome. Last year they sent us our category final results, but the final editor for the historical division was late getting her results in, and I ended up waiting at least two more weeks for the overall results. I know how obsessive it can be! I've got everything crossed for you.

Good luck on the contest! Keep us posted.

And I hear you on never enough hours in the day. I'm single too and I can't imagine trying to fit kids and a hubby in there. I'd have to give up so much other stuff!! Hmm...no wonder I'm single...

I'm single, no kids, and am on disability and I still have trouble making (maybe that's the key issue) time to write. I used to be quite good about organizing my time, but that was a long time ago. *sigh*

Elisabeth, I'm not even thinking about the grand prize...much.

Kelly, I hear ya! I can't imagine giving up so much either.

Tori, that's so true! I get all excited to write a lot over summer cuz I'm not in the classroom or grading papers or planning lessons. Then the summer comes and I never write as much as I could.

You single ladies make a married, working mother of two feel pretty good about finding what little time I can to write. I must be related to Super Woman. LOL

Seriously, though, I think all of us have trouble making time to write.

TOTALLY agree w/ you on #24. I do not know how people who have kids and full-time-plus jobs can make any time to write whatsoever. On #69, all I can say is, you lucky little duckie. :)

#69? ROFLMAO

Time? All the time in the world and not a minute to spare. Sheesh.

That when the mist is in the gloamin', and all the clouds are holdin' still,
If you're not there I won't go roamin' through the heather on the hill,
The heather on the hill.

I'm sorry, that song keeps going through my head whenever I think of Scotland.

Nita Wick, Super Woman's cousin!

Catherine, it makes me feel guilty when I do whine when I hear about some supermoms and all they have to do to write.

Bailey, what song is that?

Heather on the Hill from Brigadoon.
