Silhouette rejection. After 10 months, I get a nice paragraph about all the manuscript's shortcomings. The worst thing about it? I thought for sure that I'd get a request for more material, but it just says "best of luck in your publishing endeavors." Back to square one in the middle of nowhere without a roadmap. Excuse me while I go be miserable and contemplate never writing again.

Ah, I'm so sorry. But honestly you can't give up after one rejection. You just can't. Writers experience rejection their whole career, you pick yourself up and you keep writing and you try again.
Thanks, Jill. I know I can't give up. I won't give up. This is just another piece of paper. It can't hurt me. I was just so sure that this one would work out. But, I've already started plotting and planning my next moves!
