Brave Or Just Stupid?

Tick tock, tick tock. The Golden Heart deadline continues to creep up on me.

I'm still not able to write the ending to my book. I've procrastinated over the last 3 days to avoid it. I even brought home TONS of stuff to grade so that I don't have to work on my non-existent ending.

This afternoon I've realized that I NEED to focus. I have a job to do. I've already paid my GH money. So, here's what I'm doing:

I just scrapped 20 of the last 30 pages. I'm going to rewrite. I'm going to see where my characters are and where they need to go, and I'm going to let them guide me.

I just hope this works. It can't get much worse.

good luck! Endings are way harder than beginnings, but you made it through the middle, so at least that's done:) happy writing.

Wow, um...brave, I think...?! I'm impressed that your solution to procrastination is giving yourself more work. *g* But it sounds like it's the right thing to do, and if I know you, you're totally up to the task. Good luck.

Hmmm... I've always avoided that problem by writing the ending first. Well, not first, but before the last few chapters leading up to it. Somehow for me, it's easier. I see the way the climax is supposed to go and how the "happily-ever-after" happens. Then it becomes clear what needs to happen to get to that point.

It becomes more of a fill-in-the-blank type of thing which is soooooo much easier than flying blind.

I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it couldn't hurt to try it. Good luck!

Good luck, Christine. I happen to work better under pressure - otherwise I'm a major procrastinator. I hope this is the push you need to get the book done. :)

If it makes you feel any better I'm nose to the grindstone on my entry as well!

Good luck with yours!
