Jurus Interruptus

I went to work this morning as an ESL Coordinator. I spent 2 1/2 hours focusing entirely on my ESL aspect of my job. I LOVED it. Then I went downtown for jury duty. I spent 6 1/2 hours waiting to be told I didn't have to serve. This was my first time ever in a courtroom and what a fascinating experience! I thought I'd be able to write some during breaks and while I waited for my ride, but I didn't. The few phrases I jotted down were crap, so I stopped and I read instead. Hopefully tomorrow I'll move that progress meter!

In other news, my CP sent me 1/2 of my 1st chapter back with comments already. Thankfully they're easy fixes! I asked her to specifically make sure my characters' goals, motivations and internal conflicts worked. Regardless of what she finds, I KNOW I'm getting better. Hopefully she'll agree!

I didn't know you write Latin! Wow! Good luck writing tonight. We've all got our eyes glued to the monitor. No pressure though.....

Crystal, I work with all the English Language Learners in our school. Anyone who speaks another language gets tested for English, then based on those tests I send notices home for the parents. Then we devise a plan to help the students in and out of class. Then we have committee meetings at least 3 times a year, and then we have to administer a test, meet with teachers, train teachers...it's the part of my job that I love, but it keeps me busy with my duties as an English teacher for 3 classes and my Science class AND all the responsibilities for that job! (Sheesh! I'm tired just thinking about it!)
