Today opens the 2009 RWA contest season. I'm so excited! I will be filling out my online entry form for the Golden Heart contest when I get home from work. (Golden Heart is for unpublished people, Rita is for published people.) Are you entering this year?

That always seems to come so fast after conference. I'm opting out this year, but good luck to everyone entering!
I'm not sure yet. I always say I'm going to skip it, but being an eternal optimist, I think: maybe this is my year!
Last year, I entered the same manuscript from the previous year and it did worse despite all the improvements.
Sometimes I think I'd have better luck if I just bought 50 lottery tickets.
Two series finals have left me high and dry, so my plan is to waffle until the last day and then if there are still spots available, enter a totally different category. But since I have no plans to go to DC, I should probably just save my money!

Cat, that's me too. The eternal optimist. But if I bought the lottery tickets I'd win maybe a buck or 2.

I'm entering RITA this year (as Penny). I'm also judging RITA this year for the first time.
I'm judging a contest right now and need to get moving. I need to get moving on everything. Days without internet and computer access have put me way behind.
