Thus Begins A New Week

And I have a new attitude. I will NOT be controlled by my life. I will be in charge! So I've made a plan to do a bit of school work each night, at least an hour of exercise each night and 2-4 hours writing/reading each night. Weekends will be different, but I'm no longer trying to get everything for the day job done. You'd think after 7 years in the classroom I'd remember the job DOESN'T END. So, I'll do what I have to, be diligent about my work (for both jobs) and make sure to have the life I enjoy as well. Thanks to all who gave me words of encouragement. Your help often keeps me sane! (Well, as sane as I can be. I am a writer, after all!)

Great attitude Lexi! We can't let those day jobs suck us dry. That's reserved for our writing. LOL!

Absolutely, Cat! Because I figure even my worst writing day is better than my day job. (Although, I love the actual TEACHING part of my day job.)

I have a really good teacher friend who just switched from teaching at an elemenatary school (Travis Heights) to middle school (O Henry) - she's a former journalist who worked for the Washington Post, but has since become a perpetual student to get her Masters, and got grants to pay for her American History education. She's amazing!

If you're not happy with where you're at, there are slways options. AISD isn't the bomb...

KEEP ON WRITING! You never know where it might take you!

Shari, but I don't know what all my options are. That's what's frustrating! I don't have time to research them. And yes, I'll keep writing because that truly does keep me sane.

Hey Lexi, I won't be at the retreat because my son has two soccer games this weekend, but it sounds like the timing will work out great for you in terms of recharging the life batteries! Hope you're feeling better.

Thanks, Avery. I'm already better. And yes, this retreat ALWAYS recharges my batteries.

You'll be missed this weekend, but I'll have an extra drink for you! Uh, I mean I'll write an extra page or two for you. Yeah, that's it.
