Taken

Recently I started reading Harlequin Intrigues because I thought maybe my romantic suspenses might fit that line. This month I picked up Taken by Lori L. Harris. This is a story about 2 sisters who get into a car accident and get kidnapped by human slave traders (or so it seems). The heroine escapes, but can't get her sister out. This is all in the first chapter. So far the rest of the book is about finding the truck with the sister and the other victims before they're sold or killed. (I'm on chapter 13 of 21.)

I just have to say this story disturbs me. It has from page one. But I like it and I keep turning pages. For me it has a certain creepy element. I can't really read it at night when I'm in the house alone. Ms. Harris does make me want to drop everything to finish the book. She also makes me want to be part of the Intrigue authors group someday. For now, I'm going back to the book while there's still daylight!

Update: I decided that even in the darkness, I had to finish the book. Great read! Definitely worth the time and the suspense kept me turning pages. Two thumbs up!

Sounds like an interesting book, I might have to keep an eye out for it.

Bailey, if you want I can pop it in the mail to you when I'm finished. It really is worth the read.

Or if Bailey doesn't want it, you can send it off to me, Lex! I know I read more historical romances than anything, but I like other things as well!
