Things Are Good...Mostly

I've got lots of grading done already. It no longer feels so overwhelming. I watched The Bourne Supremacy while I graded. Now I'm about to put in The Bourne Ultimatum while I continue grading.

I haven't been very happy with my opening of Danger. It's good, but I've been feeling it could be so much more suspense-filled. While watching Matt Damon and giving out grades, I figured out how to up the tension in the very first scene. I can't WAIT to play with it tonight!

After some more grading, I'm moving on to read some for my newest CP and then I'm going to play around with my opening. I've got another contest deadline looming (Well, 2 in the next few weeks) and I want to be ready to kick some serious contest butt.

And WHAT WAS I THINKING when I entered that contest last week? Ugh! Such drivel! Uninspiring trash! (Okay, maybe that's a little harsh.) I'll never final with THAT entry. Well, hopefully I'll get some good judges who offer some pertinent advice. At least then I'll still get my money's worth.

Back to the middle school essays, myths and tests, Oh my! (Yes, they are that frightening. Believe me. That's why I have to grade during the day. At night they'd scare me too much!) Later!

I'm hearing a lot about Chapter 1. How's Chapter 2 coming along, may I ask?

Have a lovely day! :-)

No worries, Tez. Chapter 2 is taking awesome shape, as is the rest of the story.

Joan, I'm not quite sure what you've said, but thanks for stopping by!

Chapter one's go through lots and lots of changes in my house. Even when I think it's fine, I still fuss with it. Good luck with the contests. Feedback is why I enter. Finaling is like icing on the cake.

Cat, I usually have a hard time moving on to the rest of the book if chapter 1 isn't "almost as good as I need it to be". Yes, I have almost have the book written, but I haven't been able to seriously commit to finishing and I'm pretty sure it's because the "most excellent opening" eluded (sp?) me.

Um...that was supposed to be half. Almost HALF of the book written. Geez, and I call myself a writer????
