Happy Monday!

I'm a giggling fool today! Our students have to take standardized tests each year and today we got our scores back. 2 of my classes had everyone pass and another of my classes had 13 out of 14 pass (with 11 of those 13 getting commended!). I know this doesn't mean much to A LOT of people, but just take it from me. It's a GREAT thing! It means I know what I'm doing!

I managed to get all the stuff graded yesterday that I brought home, so my grading days for this school year are almost over. Yippeeeee!

I'm very much enjoying Terri Brisbin's book too. I hope to get another good chunk read tonight.

My "food plan" is back in business and I haven't felt this good in a long time. The weight loss is the perfect incentive to go to the gym!

As for my writing...well, my 100 words a day with my students ends tomorrow. I'm thrilled about that. I haven't done much with Danger lately, but I intend to. Don't roll your eyes at me. I know I've...hey! Don't give me a hard time. I'll get there. When, you ask? This week. Definitely this week. I'll get chapters 2 & 3 ready to send to my CP by the end of next weekend. No, really. Will you stop already?

That's very cool about your students. My daughter is in 3rd grade and I think she was supposed to take her first standarized test this year, but I haven't heard anything about it and of course she tells me nothing that goes on.

What's your target for getting the book done? And then what? Querying? More contests?

Thanks, Cat! I'm still bouncing off the walls about the kids. Of course, now I have to convince them to stay focused for 12 more school days!

Well, my target to get the book done completely was July. I'm hoping to still meet that or be shortly after because once school is out I'll be able to completely focus on Danger! Oh, I CANNOT wait!

Very cool about your students! My son took his tests this year for the first time, but we also haven't got the scores back yet. I'm really curious to see how he did. *:?)

As for the writing, you go, girl! I'm also looking forward to summer, and some focused writing. I'm checking things off my list, that MUST happen to get me where I need to be, financially and family-wise. But sometimes it seems like it's taking forever....

We'll get there! Keep on hangin' on! *:?)

You're right, Kerry. Keep on hangin' on. One day at a time if we have to!
