Six Random Things About Me

The most awesome Catherine tagged me. So here are 6 random things about me that I'm sure you're DYING to know!

1. I'm obsessed with The Bourne trilogy. I have the soundtracks from the movies and I've watched one movie every single day for the last 2 1/2 weeks. (Hey, research, remember???) I'm even thinking of buying the books.

2. The very first time I went to Scotland I hated it. (I know! Hard to believe, huh???) In my own defense, I was only 11 and it was a day-trip from Sunderland, England to Edinburgh. We were running behind the whole day at all of our stops so when we got to drizzly Edinburgh, we only had time to grab a quick bite to eat in a fast food place. (I had a hamburger.) I vowed then and there to never go back. Sure enough, when the family went back to England for a cousin's wedding 8 years later, I refused to take a day trip to Scotland. So everyone else went and I stayed home. It wasn't until after I saw Highlander (the original movie) that I became obsessed and decided to actually give Scotland another try.

3. I can't stand using the phone. I don't mind answering it, but if I have to make calls it drives me batty. I have to psych myself up to make some calls and that can sometimes take days.

4. I don't have a cell phone. I've thought about it off and on over the years, but still haven't done anything about it. (Same thing with a tattoo.)

5. I take a stress ball with me whenever I go to the dentist, even for a basic cleaning. (Which is tomorrow's first order of business.)

6. I collect Christmas tree ornaments and refrigerator magnets from any state or country I visit. Amazingly, I can remember the stories behind most of them too!

OMG-you haven't read the Bourne books? Sorry, Lexi, I'm a Ludlum fan from way back. You think the movies are good? Wait until you READ about Bourne. AMAZING! Oh, and by the way, the only thing they have in common is his name.

Cat, my mom told me she LOVED the books too. Seriously, they're really not common at all? I thought someone had told me they were at least a bit similar. Oh well, when I do read the books I can still picture Matt Damon in the lead role!

SO strange that you didn't love Scotland at first sight! (Though the circumstances of that visit make sense.) And I'm right there with ya on #3. I can't stand making phone calls, and kinda hate answering them, too.

Interesting!! :)

I don't picture Matt Damon in the books. Don't get me wrong... LOVE him in the movies, but Ludlum's Bourne is looser, more fluid than Damon portrays him. You'll see when you read him. Have you read any Ludlum? He's like the coolest. Don't I sound like a HUGE fan. Sigh.

Catherine, I just figure I was young and stupid back then. :)~

Cat, you're killin' me! No, I haven't read any Ludlum...yet. But you're talking me into hitting the bookstore before I get on the plane for my vacation on Saturday even though I already have 6 books packed.

We have #6 in common. Now some people bring me magnets from their vacations so I have ones from Greece, Venezuela, Victoria (Canada) and a really ugly one from San Jose. Now I want to go those places so I can rightfully claim the magnets. Though not sure about going to South America. But I am going to claim San Jose on my trip to San Fran next month. :)

Why not South America, Courtney?

I'm not completely opposed to South America, but the friend who brought me the magnet had been very glad that they were w/ people who lived there and could give them insider pointers on where to go and what to avoid. I guess stuff like that isn't very reassuring when you think of traveling with your family. There are definitely places there I would love to visit, but it just isn't high on my list. I'd rather see Europe and Austrailia first.

I can understand that, Courtney. My mom & stepdad just came back from an organized tour to Peru and they raved about the experience, that's why I asked.

My first (and so far only) trip to Scotland didn't go well either. I was in my twenties and it was a business trip, and I was sick almost the entire time. Despite still being slightly under the weather my last day there, I decided to take the train to Edinburgh and explore. I'm soooo glad I did! Now I can't wait to go back.

Alyssa, I'd pick up and move tomorrow without looking back if I could! Talk about a 180 degree turn around.

Thanks for stopping by!
